Halal BBQ!

Nothing to do with the post, Layla was pretending to be a cow!

I got invited to a Halal BBQ tomorrow that one of the mosques in the area is putting on. I think we might actually go!

I get frustrated when people grill out and everything is pork. Pork brats, pork hot dogs, pork ribs, etc. It just gets a little annoying something smells so good, but I don't consider it as food.

Anyway, a friend's husband invited me, but I don't think my friend will be there because she got really sunburned last week. She is on self-quarantine until her face looks normal again. :-) I hope she gets better soon.

Later in the evening I got invited to look at some Moroccan clothing for sale at another friend's house. A lady in the neighborhood is selling kaftans and other clothes to raise money so that her husband can go back to Morocco and visit his mother.

You never know, I might get to eat halal BBQ and get a new kaftan all in one day! Sounds fun to me!

Hurray! I hope you have fun, if you go. I know the feeling, w/the frustration, although I have been lucky and had friends who understood and would make kosher foods as well. We have a lot of potluck-style things where everyone brings something to cook so I can bring things I will eat. But it's awesome that you get to go someplace where you don't even have to worry about that and know it's all good. :)

Salaam Sis,

MashaaAllah your little girl looks so cuuute <3

I looove halal BBQ's but I rarely go since they always end up in drama -- last time, 2 sisters started duking it out!! Yes ma`am, there were head-scarves and fists flyin' everywhere O_O

InshaaAllah yours will be much more quieter and relaxed <3

Every bar-b-cue I've been to has steak and chicken. Hot dogs yes but uuugh who eats those things? LOL!

You've given me a great idea: When my sister gets here in August we'll have to have a bar-b-cue!
